This page contains some of the research and academic work I have done. They were all written using the typesetting tool LaTeX. I also used tools such as Raspberry Pi and Python for data collection and analysis respectively.

Low-cost biodosimetry using C.Elegans.

- Supervised by Jan Gruber, Co-supervised by Ben Andrew Olsen.

Without having taken courses in biology, I decided to make a cross-disciplinary jump to see how we could better measure radiation damage in roundworms to someday be able to use that knowledge for an astronaut making the trip to Mars. It was a fitting culmination of my liberal arts education both because it was my final year thesis but also because it involved using a foundational education to delve into other, more specialized topics.

Enamel decay detection using light: Advanced Project for Experimental Methods in Physical Sciences.

Teeth get more transparent as they decay. So, using what we had learned about light over the course of the semester, we built a device to use this transparency as a proxy for dental decay using an LED on one end and a photodiode on the other of a toothbrush-like apparatus. I loved this project since it allowed us to dip our toes into Product-Design that too with a concept that has medical potential.

Simulating Mass, Radius and Density Relations for White-Dwarfs

-Instructed by Chelsea Sharon.

This paper was written as an assignment for the course Modern Astrophysics. The objective of this paper was to practice Astronomy Journal conventions and reproduce the findings regarding the Chandrasekhar Limit by simulating stellar equations with Python. I enjoyed how simple physics principles, coupled with the powers of Python could allow us to predict what the death of a star might look like with remarkable precision.

Tensors: A Primer

- Instructed by Zhuang Bilin. Group Members: Mahir Amer, Ying Yi.

For the final project of Mathematical Methods in Physical Science, we were tasked with delivering a lecture on a pre-selected topic. Our approach was to go chronologically through the invention of "Tensors" to establish why it had to be invented in the first place before proceeding with the math. No matter how complicated a topic might seem, there is a very simple, logical reason that requires its invention. History is often ignored in Physics and we tried to change that.
